In the classroom

The Boot Camps at the University of Sydney combines informative lectures with individual and collaborative team exercises. You will work independently and in groups, in the classroom, and at home. Homework assignments provide an opportunity to apply what you’ve learned and take your skills to the next level – this is key to truly mastering the topics covered. The goal is to give you a comprehensive learning experience and true insight into a “day in the life” of a full stack developer, or cybersecurity analyst.

Learning a new skill set is tough work, and in our programs, we find it’s easier for participants to learn the fundamentals through hands-on instruction. That’s why we provide an intimate virtual classroom environment with a low trainer to participant ratio. In addition to our skilled trainers, our knowledgeable tutors provide extensive support in the classroom.

You will do all of your coursework using your own laptop. Our course structure is broken up into three main groups.

A diverse group of individuals sitting around a table, engrossed in their work on laptops.

Trainers lead discussions examining the background, history, and use of a new concept or technology.

Four students sitting on a bench with laptops, collaborating on their tasks.

Through timed, in-class exercises and projects, you will work individually and in groups to gain hands-on practice.

Three people discussing in a conference room.

Your portfolio shows employers that you have the skills they need. You’ll build a robust portfolio of apps and projects that prove your mastery across a wide variety of technologies.
